About
Anne Megaro was competitively selected for the Federation of Animal Science Societies (FASS), as part of the American Association for the Advancement for Science (AAAS), Science & Technology Policy Fellowship in Washington, D.C. She works on a wide range of issues as they pertain to public policy including agriculture, trade, nutrition, rural development and education. Prior to accepting the Fellowship, Anne earned her Ph.D under Dale E. Bauman in the Department of Animal Science at Cornell University. She is originally from California where she obtained a B.S. in Animal Science and Management from University of California, Davis. As a graduate student, Anne focused on bioactive fatty acids in dairy products to further increase the nutritional and functional food components of milk. She also enjoyed teaching Nutritional Physiology and Metabolism to undergraduate students and was recognized by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as an Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant in 2008. Future career goals include working as an advocate of animal agriculture and human nutrition, by bridging the gap between public policy and scientific research.
