About
I am a doctoral student in the Department of Natural Resources at Cornell University. I am interested in the ways in which expertise from different disciplines can be brought to bear on complex ethical and policy challenges, and the barriers to effective interdisciplinary collaboration and integration. Specifically, I am exploring the use of common concepts and terminology within and between the biophysical sciences, the social sciences and the humanities. My research applies a pluralistic, human ecological perspective to the scrutiny of established paradigms.
I have an MA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow (UK). I worked in government and public affairs before returning to scholarship as a researcher on various projects on public policy and applied ethics at a number of universities in the UK including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cambridge.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
