Hi! My name is Jack Meng-Tat Chia (謝明達), and I’m a Ph.D. student in Southeast Asian history at Cornell University. Born and raised in Singapore, I received my B.A. and M.A. degrees in history from the National University of Singapore, and my A.M. in East Asian Studies from Harvard University, where I was a Harvard-Yenching Scholar. My research focuses on Chinese Buddhism and popular religion, Southeast Asia-China interactions, and Overseas Chinese history.
