About
PRECIS
Gavin Keeney studied Landscape Architecture, History of Architecture, and History of Art at Cornell University, graduating in 1993. He established Landscape Agency New York, based in New York City, in the mid-1990s (a design, writing, and research bureau), followed by Agence 'X' in 2007 (an editorial, research, and artists' and architects' re-representation bureau). Recent work through Agence 'X' involves a sustained critique of Architecture and Art as forms of intellectual (speculative) capital. He has recently begun a study of the films and still photography of Chris Marker.
He has studied, lectured, and taught in the US, Canada, the UK, the Czech Republic, and Australia. See Curriculum Vitae for details.
Recent Agence 'X' editorial projects include: Eric Schuldenfrei, Marisa Yiu, eds., Instant Culture: Architecture and Urbanism as a Collective Process (Hong Kong: MCCM, 2011); Simone Brott, Architecture for a Free Subjectivity: Deleuze and Guattari at the Horizon of the Real (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2011); and Alejandro Zaera-Polo, Sniper’s Log (Barcelona: Actar, 2012).
